on the day you forgot

about me, and

my extraordinary brightness,

I did not cry

birthed by the fear of being alone

you willingly betrayed

a daughter whom you loved,

or didn’t

but a strangers seedling

grows nothing familiar

and even if it could,

you still wouldn’t care.
