This is a paper I wrote in September 2007 when I worked at a medical office. It focuses on what health care providers have to deal with when working with insurance companies. Let me know what you think!
I hate my job. I realize many people do, especially those my age. They, however, don’t do what I do. Perhaps I should rephrase that. Hate is such a strong word for a college job, something so unimportant to deserve such an overemphasized emotion. My job isn’t important. Maybe it is, after all our patients’ general well being and health are at stake. I am a medical assistant at Advantage Medical Group. Though that’s my title I’m not certified in any qualifying manner and I don’t act as a medical assistant. I prefer not to work with the patients; they can be rather self involved and whinny, so instead I call insurance companies. Again I have to wonder if I should retract my pervious statement. I don’t hate my job, I hate the insurance companies.
